My Story

Hey there! I'm Steve, and fishing has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. Growing up in Nottinghamshire, I was lucky enough to have a father who introduced me to the world of fishing at a young age. He taught me the ropes on the River Derwent and River Trent using the classic stick float method. Those early lessons instilled a deep love for the sport, and it’s no surprise that I’ve spent much of my life targeting big fish—especially rudd, roach, and chub.

After over 20 years serving in the armed forces, I've now settled just outside Norwich with my wife, and I still live and breathe specimen angling. There’s something truly special about pursuing big fish—about stepping into the unknown, testing your skills, and pushing your limits. Specimen angling is as much about the adventure as it is about the catch, and every new session offers the potential for an unforgettable experience.

Over the years, I've been fortunate enough to land some incredible fish, including a 3lb 9oz rudd, a 3lb 4oz roach, and a 45lb 10oz carp. But it's not just about the trophies; it's about the thrill of the hunt and the stories that come from it. I find immense satisfaction in helping others achieve their fishing goals, whether it's landing their personal best or mastering a new technique.
