My Story

Hi, I’m James, the founder of Next Level Angling, and a lifelong specimen angler with over twenty years of experience in targeting some of the UK’s most iconic and challenging fish. My journey into angling began when I was just five years old, and from that point, fishing has been a constant and evolving passion in my life. Through countless hours on the bank, refining my techniques, and learning from some of the best anglers around, I've developed a deep understanding of what it takes to land truly special fish.

Over the years, I’ve been fortunate enough to land some incredible specimens that have shaped my angling journey. Among my proudest captures are a 50lb 6oz carp caught off the surface—a real milestone in my career—and a 17lb bream that tested both my skill and patience. I’ve also had the thrill of landing a 4lb 5oz rudd and a 19lb 7oz barbel, each of which represents a significant achievement in my pursuit of big fish.

My real passion lies in helping other anglers take their fishing to the next level. I specialize in refining the skills that will help you break through plateaus and reach your personal bests. Whether it’s learning how to read the water more effectively, mastering bait presentation, improving feature-finding, or making your rigs work better for you, I’m here to share my knowledge and guide you to success.

Beyond guiding, I’m also deeply committed to growing the sport and spreading the love of angling through coaching, content creation, and community engagement. Fishing has been more than a hobby for me—it’s a way of life—and I want to help others experience the same joy and satisfaction that comes with landing big fish.
